What Telos is
Telos Tutoring is a free AI tutoring platform for Algebra I, run as a student-led nonprofit project. Using it costs nothing, and there is nothing to buy.
Who can use it
Students 13 and older. Students under 18 need a parent or guardian's consent, collected through our consent flow, before any tutoring features unlock. If you are under 13, we're sorry — not yet.
The rules
Be honest about your age. Use your own account. Don't try to make the tutor misbehave, don't harass it (it has feelings, sort of), and don't attempt to access other people's data. Repeated abusive language ends sessions automatically, and serious misuse can suspend an account.
The tutor is a study aid, not an oracle
The tutor is designed to guide, not to hand out answers, and we work hard on accuracy — but AI can make mistakes. Double-check anything that matters, and tell us when the tutor gets something wrong so we can fix it.
Attendance
You can cancel or reschedule up to 2 hours before a session. Three no-shows in 30 days pauses booking for 7 days (your parent is notified). We do this so free slots go to students who show up.
Our promises
Free forever. No ads, no selling data, no upsells. We publish our results — good or bad. We respond to support email within 24 hours during the pilot.
Liability
Telos is provided "as is", free of charge. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we're not liable for indirect damages arising from use of the platform. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under applicable law.
Ending an account
You (or your parent, if you're under 18) can delete the account at any time, and all personal data is removed within 30 days. We can suspend accounts that break these rules, with email notice and a way to appeal.
